Hello Kitty wine is a real thing. I know some of you will hate this and others will want to snatch some up just for the novelty of it all.

Torti Winery, located in the Oltrepò Pavese hills of Italy’s Lombardy region has been working on a Hello Kitty wine since 2007, putting aside special Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes to create several different variety of wines (including a perfectly pink one).

Sanrio, the creators behind Hello Kitty, commissioned Torti to create the different vintages after officials from that company tasted some Torti wine and thought it would be perfect for its older fanbase. The highly-recognizable pink kitten has been around since 1974.

The cutely packaged wines are available for purchase directly from Torti in the Europe, Asia, and North American markets. A few restaurants, including some in California and Japan, are serving the limited-edition wines.

I don’t have any idea how Hello Kitty wine tastes. But I am willing to try each and every one of them if Torti sends me some samples…
