Formed in Bergamo, Lombardy, on October 17, 1907, Atalanta BC—also known as “La Dea” (the Goddess) or the Nerazzurri (the “black-blues”)—is a mainstay of Serie A and plays its matches at the atmospheric Gewiss Stadium.
Inaugurated in 1928, Gewiss Stadium went through a significant modernization process in 2019, making it a state-of-the-art footballing venue while still retaining the charm of a traditional Italian stadium.
Atalanta’s fiercest rivalry is with Brescia Calcio. But off the pitch, the two cities—Bergamo and Brescia—share a strong bond following the pandemic.
